Welcome to Pin Point
The Beginning of Pin Point
Welcome to My Geoguessr & Geography Blog!
Hey everyone, and welcome!
I’m Daniel, a software engineer with a love for languages, geography, and, of course, Geoguessr. Over the past month, I’ve been diving deep into the world of Geoguessr, and I’ve had so much fun exploring new locations, learning map clues, and improving my guessing skills. But while playing, I realized something—I wanted a tool to help me (and others) get better at recognizing locations faster.
That’s why I’ve decided to build one - Pin Point
What This Blog Is About
This blog will document my journey as I develop a tool designed to help people sharpen their Geoguessr skills. Whether you're a beginner trying to improve or a seasoned player aiming for faster guesses, I want to create something that makes learning more intuitive and fun.
Along the way, I’ll be sharing:
Development updates – Insights into how I’m building the tool, including technical challenges and solutions.
Geoguessr strategies – Tips, tricks, and techniques to improve your game.
Geography insights – Learning resources, map-reading strategies, and regional clues.
Language and travel connections – Because geography and language often go hand in hand!
What’s Coming Next?
Right now, I’m in the early stages of building the tool, focusing on features that will help players recognize locations based on landscapes, signs, architecture, and other key clues. I’ll be posting regular updates on how it’s coming along, and I’d love to hear from you!
If you’re as excited about Geoguessr, geography, or just discovering new places as I am, stick around. Let’s explore the world together — one guess at a time.
📌 Got any ideas or feedback? Please contact me — I’d love to hear what features would be most useful to you!
Also, don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel @pin-point-me as I'll be posting videos documenting all of this work!
